Maria over at When in Rome participated in an ABC game and I decided to try it out. My assignment is to list 10 of my favorite things that start with a letter that Maria assigned to me (“M”). In no particular order (well, the order that I thought about it but not the order of importance):

1. Money: :-) Is it bad that that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the letter??? :-S

2. Music: I love love love music!!! I love listening to music in the car, at the house while I clean, I love singing out loud while I drive. I love having the feelings the song is about, and expressing my feelings through the songs.

3. Mexico: Even with all it's "defects", I love my friends there, I love my own personal history there, I love that going to the University there was pretty inexpensive. Love the weather, the history, some of the beaches :-D Loved growing up there. Love the food.

4. Marriage: I lived by myself for 5 years, it was not that much fun. I love having someone to share (almost) everything with, someone to cheer me up and to make me feel better when I'm down. I love having someone that loves me and who I love unconditionally.

5. Mom: Because I don't think that it's just that I appreciate her now that she's gone. But because I would much rather have her as my mom for 20 years than any other mom for 50. Because of how she was, what she taught me and the way she taught me. Because she wanted me to make the right decisions for myself, not because she said so. Because she loved me unconditionally and I knew it. Because of her character and her courage, and because thanks to her I learned that as long as you can think you're free, regardless of the exterior; that both happiness and suffering are states of mind and you chose what you prefer; and because she taught me the truly important things in life.

6. Marysol, Mario, Matias: This has to be one of my favorite families ever!!! I met Marysol probably almost as soon as I was born, she was my neighboor growing up (and I lived in the same house from when I was born 'til I married, at 26), I went to Kindergarten with Mario and with Marysol to Elementary School and Jr High. Marysol's mom is my godmother and my mom was hers. Marysol's brother donated blood for my mom for one of her surgeries. Marysol is John's godmother (he got baptized the year we got married) and both of them are our marriage godparents. Matias is their brand new baby, born April 3 at 9:00 AM.

7. Massage: Do I need to say more??? (Special mention: hot stone massage).

8. Mia and Marley: Our great labs who bring us so much joy. Mia couldn't be sweeter (she prefers attention to food) and we're sure Marley will only get sweeter with age (right now she's pretty food driven).

9. Milk: I guess this is the odd one :-D Ever since I was little I've loved milk!!! LOL My mom used to call me her "calf". I stopped drinking milk for a while (I think it was when I was living by myself, just because milk used to go bad on me all the time, no matter how small the container). Now I've switched to non-fat milk, which I've always thougth as not being real milk, but I like it too :-)

10. Movies: I thought about cheating on this one and saying "My house" LOL, because I seriously LOVE our house... But ok, I'll go with the theme and say that I like movies, both going to the movie theatre and watching them at home.

Maria de When in Rome participó en un juego del Abecedario y decidí intentarlo también. Mi tarea es escribir sobre mis 10 Cosas Favoritas que empiecen con la letra que María me asignó ("M"). En ningún orden en particular (bueno, en el orden que se me ocurrieron, pero no en orden de importancia):

1. Money (Dinero): :-) Será malo que fue en lo primero que pensé cuando vi que me tocó la M??? :-D

2. Música: Me encanta la música!!! Me gusta oirla en el carro, en la casa mientras limpio y cantar a todo lo que da mientras manejo. Me gusta sentir lo que dicen las canciones y expresar lo que siento a través de ellas.

3. México: Con todos sus "defectos", amo a mis amigos de ahí, amo mi historia personal, me encanta que ir a la Universidad sale tan barato. Me encanta el clima, la historia y algunas de las playas :-D Me encanta haber crecido ahí. Y la comida.

4. Matrimonio: Viví sola durante 5 años y no es tan curada como parece. Me encanta tener a alguien con quien compartir (casi) todo, alguien que me eche porras y me haga sentir bien cuando ando aguitada. Me encanta tener alguien que me ama y a quien amo incondicionalmente.

5. Mamá: Porque no sólo creo que la aprecio porque ya no está aquí. Sino porque prefiero 1000 veces tenerla a ella como mamá 20 años que a cualquier otra mamá 50. Por como era, por lo que me enseñó y la forma en que me enseñó. Porque quería que yo tomara las decisiones correctas por mi misma, no porque ella decía. Porque me amaba incondicionalmente y yo lo sabía. Por su carácter y su valor, porque gracias a ella aprendí que mientras pueda pensar soy libre, sin importar el exterior; que tanto la felicidad como el sufrimiento son estados mentales y que tú decides cuál eliges; y porque me enseñó las cosas que son realmente importantes en la vida.

6. Marysol, Mario y Matías: Esta tiene que ser una de mis familias favoritas de todos los tiempos!!! Conocí a Marysol yo creo que a los pocos días de nacida, ella era mi vecina y nos criamos juntas (viví en la misma casa desde que nací hasta que me casé a los 26), y fui al kinder con Mario y con Marysol a la Primaria y Secundaria. La mamá de Marysol es mi madrina y la mía era la suya. El hermano de Marysol donó sangre para mi mamá una vez que la iban a operar. Marysol es la madrina de John (se bautizó cuando nos íbamos a casar) y los 2 son nuestros padrinos de velación (de boda). Matías es su nuevo hijo, que nació el 3 de abril a las 9:00 AM.

7. Masaje: Necesito decir más??? (Mención de honor para el masaje con piedras calientes).

8. Mia y Marley: Nuestras perras labrador que nos traen tanta alegría. Mia no puede ser más dulce de lo que es (prefiere la atención a la comida) y creemos que Marley va a volverse más dulce de lo que es actualmente (todavía la manda su panza).

9. Milk (Leche): Se me hace que esta es la "rarita" :-D Pero desde que era chica me gustaba mucho la leche!!! Jajaja. Mi mamá me decía su becerro. Dejé de tomar leche un tiempo (se me hace que cuando vivía sóla porque no importaba que tan chico estaba el contenedor que compraba casi siempre se me echaba a perder). Ahora tomo leche 100% descremada (fat free), la cual yo siempre había dicho que no es leche de verdad, pero ahora me gusta también :-)

10. Movies (Películas): Pensé en hacer trampa al final y decir "Mi casa" porque la verdad es que me encanta nuestra casa... Pero bueno, voy a ser buena y a seguir las reglas. Me gustan las películas y me gusta ir al cine o verlas en la casa.
