We have a Nest!!!

A few days ago I noticed 2 birds flying around our front door...  I thought they were probably building a nest close by, but didn't realize HOW close it was... 

John wanted to hose it off once we realized that it was on top of our front door, but I have a soft spot in my little heart for animals and stuff (John calls me a tree hugger, among other things LOL)...  So I opposed to that idea... 

We didn't really know what kind of birds they are and even though I don't remember seeing them before in my life, they looked to me like the image I had in my head of "golondrinas", a type of bird in Spanish, John thought they were Robins, but I soon realized that he doesn't pay much attention to detail when it comes to birds LOL (although he's great with actors, movies and that kind of stuff, at which, I suck).  While looking up the name I realized that they ARE golondrinas (swallows) and that they are protected by a Federal Law and you're also not allowed to disturb the nest once the swallows have laid their eggs... I knew that!!! ;-) 

We might "swallow proof" our house for next Spring, but right now, I'm enjoying seeing them everytime we walk out.

Hace unos dias note a 2 pajaros volando alrededor de nuestra puerta principal,

me imagine que estaban haciendo un nido cerca de la casa, pero nunca me imagine que tan CERCA...

Cuando nos dimos cuenta de que era sobre nuestra puerta de entrada, John penso en desbaratarlo con la manguera, pero como yo tengo corazon de pollo cuando se trata de animales y otras cosas (John dice que me gusta abrazar arboles, entre otros apodos)...  Asi que me opuse a su idea... 

No sabiamos bien que tipo de pajaros son y aunque yo no recuerdo haberlas visto nunca en mi vida, como que se me hacia que encajaban con la imagen que yo tengo de las golondrinas, John pensaba que eran petirrojos, pero pronto me di cuenta de que no tenia idea de lo que estaba hablando porque como que no le pone mucha atencion a los detalles cuando se trata de pajaros jajaja  (pero no le pregunten de actores o peliculas y ese tipo de cosas, en las cuales yo nomas no).  Mientras estaba buscando el nombre en ingles, me di cuenta de que si son golondrinas, y que hay una Ley Federal en Estados Unidos que las protege, y protege los nidos una vez que hay huevos en ellos...  Ya lo sabia!!! ;-)

Yo creo que la proxima Primavera vamos a hacer nuestra puerta a prueba de pajaros, pero por lo pronto, estoy disfrutando de verlos cada vez que salimos :-)

It's probaly hard to see in this picture, but if you blow it up you can see 1 of the birds flying in the middle of it (he's right in front of our neighbors door).

Esta medio dificil de ver en esta foto, pero si la abren en grande pueden ver a uno de los pajaros volando en medio de la foto (esta exactamente en frente de la puerta de nuestro vecino).
