I just have to say that I know where Festus is!!! :-D And why am I saying this??? Because that’s where the “cave-house” that’s for sale on Ebay is located!!!
It’s kind of funny how the news that make the front page of Yahoo or MSN or whatever that are related to a place you know make you feel somewhat “proud” (or is it just me because I’m a dork? 8-)… It’s like whenever I hear something about the Baja 1000 race, and I feel a bit of joy knowing what they’re talking about, where it starts and the desert they go through… Or like know, watching Arnold’s commercials that say “Welcome to California” or “When can you start?”, and I’m familiar with Disney, the Santa Monica Pier and other things…
But this also has it downsides… Like when they publish something about how many people have died in Tijuana due to violence in the last year… Or even that odd/tacky one about the chick from Kansas City, MO who avoided death when a bullet got caught in her weave :-S Nice…

I guess, in a way, it is the same pride I felt when I was a toddler and the Pampers commercial would come on TV and I would bring my own diaper to "show it" to the TV :-)

Tengo que decir, que yo sé dónde está Festus!!! :-D Y por qué digo esto??? Porque es ahí donde se encuentra la “casa-cueva” que está al a venta en Ebay!!!
Me da un poco de risa ver como las noticias que llegan a la página principal de Yahoo o de MSN o de algo importante que están relacionadas a un lugar que uno conoce te hacen sentir algo así como “orgulloso” (o nomás sere yo por lo super nerda que soy? 8-)… Es como cuando escucho algo sobre la Baja 1000, y me da gusto saber que yo se de lo que están hablando, donde empiezan y el desierto que cruzan… O como ahora, mirando los anuncios de Arnold que dicen “Bienvenido a California” o “Cuándo puedes empezar?”, y veo Disney y el muelle en Santa Mónica y otras cosas…
Pero también tiene su lados negativos… Como cuando publican algo sobre cuentas personas han muerto violentamente en Tijuana en el último año… O incluso la historia rara/naca de la doña de Kansas City, MO que se salvó de morir cuando la bala se le atoró en las extensiones :-S

Me imagino que de alguna manera se parece al "orgullo" que me daba cuando estaba chiquita y pasaban un comercial de Pampers en la tele y yo sacaba uno para "enseñárselo" a la televisión :-)
