When you live in Missouri....
Yesterday when John opened the door of our apartment to let the dogs go out to pee this is what got it... We SERIOUSLY thought it was pretty cool LOL
We put it in a container and took it outside :-)

That's a preying mantis, right? We used to torture those things -- they change colors depending on their background -- so we'd always pick them up and move them!!
I didn't realize that they aren't in California -- but come to think of it, I haven't seen any!
Yup!!! I think I have seen them before, but this one was HUGE!!! Probably 3 inches long!!! I'll try and do that next time and see it change colors!!! They're all kinds of bugs around here, it's funny, but Marley was even afraid to go outside to use the bathroom because of the weird noises LOL... John and I were talking about it the other day and we think that now when we travel we're going to miss the noisy nights!!! :-)
Definitely a praying mantis! I love those things. Sooo cool! The only time I saw one up close was when we took a road trip to South Dakota. Haven't seen any in California or San Diego... guess we have enough other bugs to make up the difference.
Cool find :) Better than roaches!
Ains no, yo les tengo miedo, asco, no se, en Mty habia muchas.
