San Diego October 2010

For some reason I didn't take any pictures with my friends on this trip :-(  But I did take a few with the team I went through training with on a night that we went out and had Vietnamese food :-)

I noticed after I posted the last post I forgot to include these pictures on it... so I decided to post them in Part 2 :-)

And I just want to add... I had SOOOOOO much fun!!!  It's always great to see people that love you and whom you love :-)

Trip to TJ in October

I've had this post as a draft since last October...  I'm just going to go ahead and post it, without much text, because these days I haven't had much time for anything that's not work, baby stuff and resting LOL

This photos are from my visit to Tijuana in October... Best tacos ever, by the way!!!  And, as always, I love my friends to death and I'm grateful for and to each of them!!!

I was 10 weeks pregnant on these photos :-)

He tenido este post en mi "borrador" desde Octubre del anio pasado... Asi que voy a publicarlo sin mucho texto, porque estos dias no he tenido mucho tiempo  de nada que no sea trabajo, cosas de bebe y descansar jajaja.

Estas fotos son de mi visita a Tijuana en Octubre...  Los mejores tacos del mundo, por cierto!!!  Y, como siempre, amo a mis amigos y daria la vida por ellos, y estos agradecida por y con cada uno de ellos!!!

En estas fotos tenia 10 semanas de embarazo :-)

Grandma

I had debated if I wanted to post photos of my visit to my grandma, who I've always called Mama Lupe.  

I got to see her on Friday (October 8) while visiting my cousin.  She's in a convalescent home in LA due to her advanced Alzheimer's and at this point, I don't think she has one conscious moment, at all during the day.  

It was sad to see her, but I'm glad I got to, specially now that I'm pregnant, she turned 84 years old on September 21 and even though she doesn't seem to "be there" any more, I'm glad that she's healthy overall and is not suffering.

Estuve debatiendo si queria postear fotos de mi visita a mi abuelita, a quien siempre he llamado Mama Lupe.

Me toco verla el viernes (8 de octubre) mientras visitaba a mi prima.  Ella vive en una casa para convalescientes en Los Angeles debido a su Alzheimer avanzado y, yo creo que a estas alturas ya no tiene ni un momento de lucidez durante el dia.

Me dio tristeza verla, pero me dio gusto tener la oportunidad, especialmente ahorita que estoy embarazada, ella cumplio 84 anios el 21 de septiembre, y aunque ya no parece que "este ahi", me da gusto que esta saludable y que no esta sufriendo.

Te quiero mucho Mama Lupe!!!

Family

Last week I had a chance to visit with my family (or maybe I should say with the family of the only cousin that still talks regularly to me). 

It was really nice to talk to them and hang out with my niece and nephew, and go out to dinner (we had Thai on Friday night). I hadn't seen them since I moved to St. Louis and it was good to catch up and remember old times when our family was complete.

La semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de visitar a mi familia (o tal vez deberia decir a la familia de mi prima que todavia me habla regularmente).

Para mi fue muy bueno hablar con ellos y pasar un rato con mi sobrina y mi sobrino, y salir a cenar (el viernes cenamos comida Thai).  No los habia visto desde que me cambie a St. Louis y me la pase muy bien poniendonos al corriente y recordando viejos tiempos cuando la familia estaba completa.

 My cousin and I went to pick up my nephew from football practice, they live in Santa Clarita, and he goes to a HS in Valencia, which is this close to Six Flags.

Mi prima y yo fuimos a recoger a mi sobrino de su practica de futbol americano, ellos viven en Santa Clarita y el va a una preparatoria en Valencia, que esta super cerquita de Six Flags.

I heard this song 3 weeks ago when I was in San Diego and it grew on me... unfortunately, it hasn't made it's way to St. Louis yet (or at least I haven't heard it here), so I thought I would share it here :-)

Escuche esta cancion hace 3 semanas que estuve en San Diego y entre mas la escuchaba mas me gustaba...  Desafortunadamente parece que todavia no llega a St. Louis (o por lo menos yo no la he oido aqui), asi que se me ocurrio compartirla aqui :-)

Awww...

I watched this Carrie Underwood video last night and I thought it was very sweet. 


Of course it made me cry.  I don't talk about it a lot, but I do think about my mom every day and I still miss her...  I wish she had been there with me to share my special day... and beyond.

Anoche mire este video de Carrie Underwood por primera vez y se me hizo super tierno.


Claro que me hizo llorar.  No hablo muy seguido de esto, pero pienso en mi mama todos los dias y todavia la extrano... Me hubiera gustado que estuviera ahi para compartir nuestro dia... y mas.

Visits to Tijuana

I went to TJ on Tuesday and Wednesday.  On Tuesday I visited my mom's friend Petra and her daughter Eloina, we had delicious homemade food at their house (chiles rellenos and chilaquiles).

On Wednesday I had dinner with Claudia and Marysol and then Claudia and I drove to my friend Hooli's house for an Independence Day celebration.  

Hooli's wife had made this cute pins (I'm wearing a little charro one), and then had chips, cucumbers and olives with lemon (really good) and tamales, their house is gorgeous.  And our friend Sammy and his wife were also there.

I can't wait to see them again in October, hopefully :-)

Fui a Tijuana el martes y el miercoles.  El martes visite a Petra, una amiga de mi mama, y a su hija, Eloina, comimos una deliciosa comida hecha en casa (chiles rellenos y chilaquiles).

El miercoles comi con Marysol y Claudia, y de ahi Claudia y yo nos fuimos a la casa de Hooli a una celebracion por el Dia de la Independencia.

La esposa de Hooli hizo unos prendedores muy curiositos (yo traigo uno de un charro) y tenian papitas, pepinos y aceitunas con limon (muy buenos) y tamales, y su casa esta muy bonita.  Mi amigo Sammy y su esposa tambien fueron. 

Ya quiero que sea octubre para volverlos a ver!!! :-)
