Today we went out to dinner to Wapango with my friend Mindy and her husband, I REALLY liked that restaurant since the first time Mindy and I visited a few months ago, it's supposed to be Mexican, but I think it's from the South of Mexico, it has a lot of influences from the Yucatan Peninsula (where Cozumel, Playa del Carmen and Cancun are), the food is good, but the desserts are GREAT!!! We had the chocolate frits (basically fried brownie balls), that are delicious.
But everytime I go there (or see the sign) I think about the "real" Huapango, which is a type of traditional music. I haven't heard a lot of them, but my mom really liked "El Huapango de Moncayo", if you have a minute, listen to it (even just part of it since it's long), it's an orchestra song and it'll show you another side of the Mexican culture, the part that makes me proud of being Mexican :-)
