This is who I am :-)

Yes, my friend, this is how geek-y I am!!! A few weeks ago my car started displaying a message that said that I needed to rotate the tires… Well, I’m finally taking in to the shop to get the oil changed and get some other checks that I need to change my plates from California to Missouri… Anyway, I was wondering if I REALLY needed the tires rotated… So what’s an engineer to do??? And for that, an engineer working in Quality???

I made a little diagram of my car, marked the 4 tires and was going to check the ID and OD (inside and outside diameter) thread height with a digital caliper… Yes, I know, I’m a nerd 8-) Sorry :-D

But I went out there and noticed I can’t really check the ID appropriately because the caliper doesn’t fit straight inside the fender, so I just checked the OD.

VERDICT: I DO need to rotate my tires. Specifically, change the ones in the front to the back :-). Thank you very much!

Si, mis queridos amigos, soy super nerda!!! Hace unas semanas se le prendió a mi carro un letrero que dice que necesita rotar las llantas… Bueno, pues finalmente voy a llevar mi carro al taller a que le cambien el aceite y le hagan otras verificaciones que necesita para cambiar mis placas de California a placas de Missouri… Entonces me pregunté si REALMENTE necesito que roten las llantas… Y qué es lo que hace un ingeniero? Y mucho más un ingeniero que trabaja en Calidad???

Hice un diagramita de mi carro, marquee las 4 llantas y le iba a checar la profundidad de las grecas en el diámetro interno y externo con un caliper digital… Si, ya se, soy una nerd 8-) Perdón :-D

Pero cuando salí a checarlo, me di cuenta que el caliper no iba a caber derecho adentro del guardafango, así que nada más chequé en el diámetro externo.

VEREDICTO: Si necesita rotar las llantas. Específicamente, cambiar las de enfrente hacia atrás :-). Estoy bien perra!!!
